A few years ago we started an office tradition we like to call “Bad Music Friday”. It started one day when we were playing music in the office and a terrible song came up and then everyone started trying to 1-up each other with worse music.
Over the years the rules have been refined down to the following:
- The music must be on YouTube
- At least 25% of the participants must recognize the song or it gets skipped (no 80′s Spanish techno-pop)
- Once a song is started it cannot be ended prematurely (you have to suffer just as much as the rest of us)
- No hogging the music, everyone should get a turn to play something.
- If you repeat a song, you lose a turn.
- Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley is permanently banned for obvious reasons.
Now go forth and annoy the bejesus out of your coworkers and start Bad Music Friday in your workplace. If you use twitter, use the #BadMusicFriday hashtag.
